Terms of use
Last updated 5 October 2026
What changed on 5 October 2026:
- New section 5 on planning together in shared collections. Later sections are renumbered.
- Importing from webpages and screenshots (section 6).
- Day planning, routes and reminders (section 8), and maps now come from Google Maps (section 9).
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Vouch ("Vouch", "we", "us", "our"). They cover the Vouch mobile app, the website at heyvouch.app, and the shared pages we host (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Vouch helps you save the places you find, including in TikTok and Instagram posts, on webpages and in screenshots, keep them on a map and in collections, plan days out, and plan together and share with friends. Vouch is currently free. To keep it running fairly we apply usage limits, such as a daily number of imports. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you the price before you pay anything.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13, or older if your country requires it, to use the Service. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your sign-in details secure. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- Your account is personal to you. Don't share it, sell it, or create an account for someone else, or one designed to mislead.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Settings → Delete account).
3. Community rules
You agree not to use the Service to post, share or do anything that:
- is hateful, discriminatory, harassing, bullying, threatening, violent, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors;
- impersonates anyone, misleads people, or is spam, including fake or paid endorsements that you don't disclose, and unwanted invitations;
- shares someone else's private or personal information without their permission, including in screenshots you import or notes you leave for a group;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, or breaks any law;
- tries to get around our content filter, safety features or usage limits;
- scrapes, crawls or accesses the Service by automated means, or interferes with or disrupts it or its security;
- copies, modifies, reverse engineers, resells or builds a competing product from the Service, except as the law allows.
4. Your content
"Your content" means everything you add to Vouch: your notes, takes, visits, collections, day plans, group notes, profile details and photo, the screenshots you upload, and the edits you make to AI suggestions. You keep ownership of it. To run the Service, you give Vouch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, adapt (for example, to format it for different screens), display and distribute your content. We use it only to operate, improve and promote the Service, and only in line with your sharing choices.
When you share a collection by link, people with the link can view it, and people who view it in the app can save their own copy. That copy stays in their account even if you later delete yours. Our licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies other people have already saved, places you chose to leave in a shared collection (section 5), and limited backup and legal-retention copies.
You're responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights needed to post it, and that it follows these Terms. We don't check content before it's shared, but we may review, filter or remove it at any time.
5. Planning together
- Roles. The owner of a collection can invite people to add places or just to view it, change their roles, remove them, and hand over ownership to someone who can add places. People who can add places can add their own saves, write group notes, and remove what they added. Viewers can see the collection but not change it.
- Invites. An invite link lets whoever has it join with the role it was made for, so share it only with the people you mean to invite. Links work once, expire after 7 days, and can be cancelled by the owner.
- What others see. Everyone in a collection can see the places in it, who added each one, the group notes, and the names and photos of the people in it, and the places appear on their maps. Your private notes and visits are never shown.
- Leaving. You can leave a collection at any time. The places you added stay unless you choose to take them out when you leave, or the owner removes them. If the owner deletes the collection, it's deleted for everyone.
- Responsibility. Everyone is responsible for what they add to a shared collection. The owner can remove anything in it, and anyone in it can report content that breaks these Terms.
6. Posts, webpages and screenshots you import
- When you import a link, Vouch reads the post's or page's publicly available content to find the places it mentions (see our Privacy Policy). Vouch saves the places, your notes, a link back to the original, and the creator's handle as credit. It doesn't save, download for you, or re-host the video, audio or images.
- Only upload screenshots you're allowed to use, and don't upload ones showing other people's private information. Uploaded screenshots are deleted after 7 days.
- Posts and pages belong to their creators and publishers and are governed by the terms of the platform or site they're on. Only import content you're allowed to access, and use Vouch for your own personal reference and sharing, not to republish anyone's work.
- Vouch isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok, Instagram, Meta, Google or any other platform. Their names and trademarks belong to their owners.
- A post or page can disappear or change at any time. We can't guarantee that any link will keep working.
7. AI-generated information
Vouch uses AI (currently Google Gemini) to suggest places and a summary of what's good there, and to suggest places for Explore. AI can be wrong. It can misidentify a place, get details like prices, opening hours, menus or allergens wrong, or misunderstand a post. Suggestions are a starting point for you to check and edit, not facts or professional advice. Always check important details, such as allergens and accessibility, with the venue.
8. Day plans, routes and reminders
Day plans, travel times, routes and weather are estimates to help you plan, not guarantees. Venues may be closed, busy or different from what's shown, and conditions change. Use your own judgement about your route and safety, follow local laws, and don't use Vouch while driving. Reminders are delivered by your phone and may be delayed or missed, for example if notifications are turned off.
9. Place information and third-party services
Maps and place information come from third parties, mainly Google Maps. Your use of Google Maps features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. The Service links to third-party apps and websites that we don't control. We're not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or practices. Places and venues listed in Vouch have no connection to Vouch unless we say so.
10. Reporting, moderation and enforcement
If you see content that breaks these Terms, report it with Report on the collection, or email team@heyvouch.app. We review reports within 24 hours. We automatically filter some words, and you won't be able to post text the filter blocks. At our discretion and without notice, we may remove or restrict content, stop a collection or profile from being shared, or suspend or close an account, when we reasonably believe it breaks these Terms, puts others at risk, or exposes Vouch to legal liability.
11. Copyright and intellectual property complaints
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Vouch infringes your copyright or other rights, email team@heyvouch.app with:
- the work you believe is infringed;
- the link to, or a description of, where it appears on Vouch;
- your name and contact details;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that your notice is accurate, and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We'll remove or disable access to content we find infringes someone's rights, tell the person who posted it, and give them a chance to respond. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.
12. Our rights in the Service
Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes. The Service, including its software, design, text and graphics, and the Vouch name and logo, belongs to Vouch or its licensors and is protected by law. Your content isn't included in that. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
13. Changes to the Service
We're always improving Vouch. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend or stop the Service, in whole or in part. If a change significantly affects you, we'll try to give you reasonable notice, and we'll give at least 30 days' notice before shutting the Service down entirely, so you can export your data.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that content (including AI suggestions, day plans and third-party place information) is accurate or complete.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Vouch will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill or opportunities, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms. Our total liability for all claims about the Service is limited to the greater of NZ$100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
16. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under law that can't lawfully be excluded, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, or the consumer laws of the country where you live. Sections 14, 15 and 17 apply only to the extent those laws allow.
17. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to indemnify Vouch against reasonable claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of the law or someone else's rights.
18. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer commercially or legally practical. When access ends, your right to use the Service ends too. Sections 4 (for copies already shared), 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20 and 22 survive termination.
19. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Vouch from Apple's App Store, the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and Vouch only, not Apple. Vouch, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence to use the app is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, as the App Store Usage Rules permit.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for it. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Vouch, not Apple, is responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection and privacy claims, and claims that it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
Questions, complaints or claims about the app: team@heyvouch.app.
20. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the courts of New Zealand have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top and summarise what changed. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
22. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Vouch about the Service. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We may send you notices by email or in the app.
